I pulled these pics the other night from IG.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

As I’ve mentioned before I work near the United Nations and see tons of Diplomat plated cars daily. Many of them are run of the mill S Classes some are !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! once in a while something interesting like !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! or a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! will pop up.

But I’ve never seen this beast! I tried to look up the country but I can’t figure anything out, anyone have any ideas?

I’ve seen a Mexican plated Hiace van near me but never anything like this.

The UN is an interesting place to people watch for a bit as well. Me and my friends walked by there on our trip to NYC and there was an African guy strolling down the street in a generalissimo outfit. He was obviously pretty important, because he had a bodyguard with an Uzi under his arm.

I think it’s Monaco. Somebody spotted this beast in Ohio before.

I went to high school and college for a bit near Columbus Circle and often saw diplomat plated cars. All my experiences with them have been me nearly getting killed because I’m not important.

It isn’t possible to find out what country they are from just by looking at the vehiclr, that’s the point. In SF we have lots of diplomatic cars, there are embassies all over the place. One of my neighbors has the plates and drives a Subaru. There are lots of staff and they don’t all drive nice stuff.

CKB002

C = Consul

KB = Monaco

002 = Perhaps high ranking position in that mission.

Nice, my google skills only found a partial list every time. Thanks for the links.

You can, it’s just the US State Department doesn’t make it blatantly obvious.

For example, the formatting doesn’t follow ISO 3166-1 rules or other standardized formats. So in this example, if the State Department were doing ISO formatting, the code would be MC for Monaco, not KB. Or in another obvious format, like MON.

I was actually trying to find it by the plate code. On my other posts the first couple of letters usually let me find the country code associated but the lists I found didn’t have CKB or KB.

Yeah I figured there must me some code, but not so people can glance at a bunch of cars at the UN and pick out a specific country. I’ll have to check out my neighbors letters and see if I can tell. I do see them sometimes but I wasn’t really sure I should just ask what country they are from haha.
